ASCII Art Generator
Big ASCII Text Fonts
Type once, preview hundreds of FIGlet styles, and copy a terminal-ready ASCII banner.Paste tip: use a monospace font
ASCII art depends on exact character spacing. After pasting, use a monospace font and turn off word wrap if the banner is wide.

What Is an ASCII Text Generator?
An ASCII text generator turns normal letters into large text art made from plain keyboard characters. Instead of using an image or a graphic design file, the result is still text that can be copied, pasted, edited, stored in a text file, or used in a terminal.
TextVibe uses FIGlet-style fonts for this page. FIGlet fonts define how each letter should be drawn across multiple lines, using characters such as slashes, underscores, pipes, brackets, dots, and spaces. When those characters are placed in the right positions, short words can look like big banners.
Why We Show Pure ASCII Fonts
Some FIGlet fonts use Unicode block characters or box drawing symbols. They can look beautiful in a browser, but may not copy cleanly into older text editors, terminals, code comments, or plain text environments.
To make the output more portable, this generator filters the font list to pure ASCII styles. The visible fonts use standard printable ASCII characters plus spaces and line breaks, which gives the copied result a better chance of working in README files, source comments, terminal banners, and simple text documents.
Why ASCII Art Can Look Misaligned
ASCII art depends on exact spacing. Every space, slash, underscore, and letter has to stay in the same column. If the destination app changes character width or wraps long lines, the shape can appear broken even though the copied text is correct.
For best results, paste ASCII art into an editor that uses a monospace font such as Consolas, Cascadia Mono, Courier New, Menlo, or Monaco. Also turn off word wrap when the banner is wide. Many large ASCII fonts create lines wider than a normal document window.
Is ASCII art the same as a font?
Not exactly. A normal font changes how existing letters are displayed. ASCII art replaces each letter with a multi-line drawing made from text characters. That is why the result can be copied as plain text.
Why does it look correct here but wrong in a TXT file?
The page displays results inside a preformatted monospace block with horizontal scrolling. A TXT editor may use a proportional font or wrap long lines. Switch the editor to a monospace font and disable word wrap to preserve alignment.
Why are some famous FIGlet fonts missing?
This page currently hides fonts that are not pure ASCII. Fonts that rely on block characters, box drawing symbols, or other Unicode glyphs may look good in the browser but are less reliable in plain text environments.
Which ASCII font should I choose?
Use compact styles for narrow spaces, classic styles for README headings, bold styles for terminal banners, and 3D styles when the text is short. If the output becomes too wide, try a shorter word or a simpler font.
Can I use ASCII art in code comments?
Yes, but keep it modest. Very large banners can make files harder to scan. For source code, compact ASCII headers are usually better than tall decorative styles.
Can I paste ASCII art into social media?
Sometimes, but many social apps collapse spaces, use proportional fonts, or wrap lines aggressively. ASCII art is most reliable in terminals, code editors, Markdown files, and plain text areas that preserve whitespace.
